Greenfield SchoolTOP SPEAKER KIDS is an English Public Speaking Competition for Greenfield School students in Grades 4-5. This event is not only an intellectual playground that offers opportunities to enhance English proficiency, but also cultivates confidence and hones presentation skills for public speaking.
This year, the competition's topics are closely aligned with the curriculum, allowing students to apply vocabulary and knowledge learned in class. It also encourages them to connect these topics to their own experiences, expressing their unique perspectives.
I. Competition Rules
1. Video Round (February 20 - March 3)
Students must record a 3-minute video introducing themselves and presenting on a personal characteristic they are most proud of.
*Each student submitting a video will receive an additional 10 out of 30 points for their Semester II Speaking exam.
Submission Requirements:
- Format: Students are encouraged to present their speeches in diverse formats such as Presentation, Storytelling, Podcast, Film, or Poster.
- Language: Confident delivery and clear content.
- Filming: Horizontal orientation.
- Eye Contact: Candidates must maintain direct eye contact with the camera.
- Parental Involvement: Parents should not participate in the content of the student's speech (technical support is permitted).
2. Casting Round (March 18)
Students will prepare a topic drawn from the preliminary round. They will deliver a trial presentation on stage. Following this, the judging panel will select 10 students per grade level to advance to the final round.
Requirements:
- Presentation: Confident, logical, and adhering to the assigned topic.
- Time: 8 minutes per student.
3. Final Round (April 1)
The 10 finalists will further refine their speeches on the topics from the casting round.
Requirements:
- Presentation: Confident, logical, persuasive, and adhering to the assigned topic.
- Format: Diverse and lively presentation style.
- Props: Students are encouraged to prepare additional props, sound effects, and visuals to complement their speeches.
- Time: Each student has 8 minutes for their presentation.
II. Prize Structure per Grade Level
- 01 First Prize: 1,000,000 VND Scholarship + Cup + Certificate
- 01 Second Prize: 800,000 VND Scholarship + Certificate
- 03 Third Prizes: 500,000 VND Scholarship + Certificate
- 05 Consolation Prizes: 300,000 VND Scholarship + Certificate
