12th grade students showcase their poetry skills

Whether as children or after crossing into adulthood, each of us has, at some point, been moved by a beautiful line of poetry. And that "purest voice" can arise from anyone, anywhere. We don’t need to be scholars to create poetry or to relish the vitality it brings.
"Golden autumn sunlight on the porch
The breeze gently stirs the leaves, serene skies above
Autumn moon hangs so delicately
Mists float softly, touching one’s heart with grace."
The verse above is an excerpt from one of the remarkable poems written by 12th-grade students during their experiential literature class on the theme “Worlds of Poetry.”
To inspire creativity in poetry, our literature teacher organized the class outdoors, right on the school grounds. Students worked individually or in groups to craft poems on themes of autumn and love. Under the autumn sky, their thoughtful verses took shape, beautifully penned by each student.
Each student had their own unique perspective on autumn and love, reflected clearly through diverse poetic forms. Some chose the traditional "luc bat" form with its skillful rhyme scheme, while others opted for free verse with creative and spontaneous expressions. Regardless of the style, each poem held a personal mark and distinct emotions from each student.
Through observation and self-composed poetry, students gained a deeper appreciation of the beauty of poetry. They experienced the full process of selecting a topic, choosing suitable words, rhyming artfully, and arranging lines to complete a poem. This approach not only helped them enjoy the beauty of language but also enabled them to remember meaningful verses and connect more closely with poetry.
Poetry, as a priceless source of knowledge, helps students enrich their vocabulary, hone their appreciation for art, and develop creative expression. May these beautiful verses bring them peace of mind, broaden their perspectives, and deepen their understanding of life.
