Cultivating gratitude through every lesson

18/11/2024

Gratitude is not just a way of life; it is a perspective that allows us to see things with positivity, appreciation, and deep respect. It is the ability to recognize and value the goodness—whether big or small—that we receive in life, from the people around us, from nature, or even from within ourselves.

With the theme of Gratitude Month, this November, homeroom sessions titled “Gratitude in Action” have been introduced by teachers to students. This is an opportunity for students to reflect on themselves and express gratitude for the good things around them.

Gratitude is not always about grand gestures—it exists in the smallest things around us.

Carefully prepared in both content and format, these sessions create a comfortable space for students to gain knowledge and freely express their gratitude. Through these lessons, they explore the meaning of gratitude, why it should become a habit, and how it connects to acts of kindness.

Well-structured in both content and delivery, the lesson engages and excites students.

Students also engage in various activities such as the Gratitude Bingo game, the "Gratitude Challenge" calendar, and writing “Letters of Gratitude.” These activities help them understand, appreciate, and spread love—not only to themselves but also to teachers, friends, parents, and loved ones.

On small, colorful cards, students write simple yet heartfelt messages of thanks. Some express gratitude for the opportunity to study and grow in a nurturing environment, for getting enough sleep and enjoying three meals a day, and for their parents' care and teachers' guidance.

Though the handwriting may still be unsteady, it carries profound meaning.

“If you bring gratitude into your life, you can experience more happiness.” Hopefully, through these sessions, students will continue to embrace, practice, and live with gratitude every day.
