Grade 8 students actively engage in learning during the Biology lesson

04/11/2024

In the Biology lesson on the topic "Nutrition and Digestion in Humans," Grade 8 students had interesting and valuable experiences. Instead of passively receiving theoretical knowledge, they actively participated in various dynamic activities, managed their own learning, and sought out information for the lesson.

At the beginning of the lesson, the game "Mystery Door" energized the atmosphere, helping the students review their knowledge and start the lesson with excitement. The highlight of the lesson was the station-based and puzzle methods, which helped shift the students from a passive to an active learning state.

The lesson began with an engaging warm-up activity, attracting enthusiastic participation from the students.

Here, the students were divided into three expert groups to explore topics such as food safety, tooth decay, and gastric and duodenal ulcers. After completing their research, each group presented their findings to the class and participated in lively discussions about the information and knowledge they had gathered.

The experts took turns sharing their group's information with others in the class.

Additionally, the students reinforced their knowledge by categorizing good and bad habits for the digestive system in the activity "Menu for a Healthy Stomach." Notably, the teacher had prepared various foods, such as fruits, candies, and milk, for the students to sort and identify safe foods for the digestive system based on the expiration dates and quality of the products.

Checking the expiration date of products before use is essential to ensure digestive health.

The lesson not only focused on delivering knowledge but also created a positive learning environment that enhanced the students' communication skills and their ability to actively seek out information. It is hoped that through this lesson, the students will develop healthy eating habits and raise awareness about protecting the health of their digestive systems.
