Greenfield School students respond to World Mental Health Day

10/10/2024

"How are you feeling today?" – This is the question printed on the standees placed in front of each building at Greenfield School this morning. Here, teachers and students could decorate and stick stickers representing their emotions. This engaging activity is part of the Greenmind Month event organized by the school in response to World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

With the message “All feelings matter”, the event “Our Cups of Feeling” encouraged every individual in the Greenfield School community to fill their emotional cup with stickers. When we recognize and express our emotions, we begin to understand ourselves better, learning how to manage and regulate our feelings effectively.

The standees attracted the attention of many teachers and students.

On the emotional cups, countless happy stickers could be seen—perhaps marking moments of joy when students overcame a challenge, performed well on a test, or shared a meaningful conversation with a friend. Yet, there were also stickers reflecting exhaustion, sadness, or anxiety. For those who find it difficult to put their emotions into words, these stickers served as a powerful tool to express their unspoken feelings.

Draw in stickers is the way help students express their feelings.

Alongside “Our Cups of Feeling”, Greenmind Month will continue to bring meaningful activities throughout October, including homeroom sessions focused on mental well-being and a series of workshops designed for both students and teachers. Through these initiatives, Greenfield School hopes to inspire small but meaningful changes, helping everyone cultivate a healthier, happier, and more balanced mind, body, and spirit each day.
