"Behind the Scars" - A Psychology Workshop for Parents of Grades 6-12

06/04/2025

Adolescence is a crucial period, marking the transition from "child" to "adult." The profound changes in psycho-physiology, combined with the influence of the social environment and mass media, put children in this age group at risk of engaging in behaviors harmful to their physical and mental health.

With over a decade of working with students, GFS understands that children grow up healthy when supported by strong connections and companionship from both family and school. To share useful and practical information and accompany parents on their children's journey to maturity, GFS is organizing the psychology workshop "Behind the Scars."

The program will feature Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, a psychology expert. She has nearly 20 years of experience in mental healthcare, counseling, and clinical psychological therapy for children and adolescents. She is also a familiar figure at forums on education and mental healthcare for children and the community.

At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien will discuss the following with parents:

  • Concepts, manifestations, and consequences of risky behaviors in adolescents.
  • Causes leading to risky behaviors in adolescents.
  • How to accompany children to prevent risky behaviors in adolescents.

Leveraging the expert's extensive knowledge and solutions derived from highly educational research and experience, GFS is offering 250 special invitations to parents of Grades 6-12 who are interested in the program and register for tickets with the organizing committee before April 10, 2025.

We hope "Behind the Scars" will be a beneficial workshop, helping parents gain a deeper understanding, become trustworthy friends, and confidently accompany their children through important milestones in life!
