Astonishing Folk Literature Character Transformations by Grade 6 Students at the Grand Finale of “Magical Transformations”
16/05/2026
Applause, delighted laughter, and many touching moments filled the auditorium during the Grand Finale of “Magical Transformations – Season 2,” an interdisciplinary Literature–English experiential activity for Grade 6 students, held on May 16.
The students’ natural performances, expressive stage presence, and creative scriptwriting left the audience truly amazed by the acting abilities of these young performers.

After nearly a month of preparation and rehearsals, each class selected a well-known folk tale and adapted it into a stage production. Students worked together to develop ideas, write scripts, assign roles, and cast actors for each character. Throughout the process, teachers guided them in acting techniques, dialogue delivery, emotional expression, and stage coordination, helping every performance become more polished and impactful.
After surpassing nearly 20 teams in the preliminary round, the six best teams advanced to the Grand Finale with performances that were carefully crafted both in content and emotion. Through each play, the audience was transported back to familiar folk stories: moved by the messages of unity and filial piety in “Bánh chưng bánh giầy”; captivated by the dramatic confrontation in “Sơn Tinh – Thủy Tinh”; inspired by the bravery of Thạch Sanh; touched by the fate of the greedy older brother in “Cây khế”; and entertained by the cleverness of “Em bé thông minh.”

In addition to their natural acting skills, the teams demonstrated creativity by incorporating English into the introductions of their plays. These lively and engaging English presentations added a fresh dimension to the program while helping students strengthen their language abilities, confidence, and presentation skills.
Reflecting on the project, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Head of the Grade 6–7 Literature Department, shared: “The biggest challenges for students were completing their scripts and performing on stage. Although they had many creative ideas, they initially struggled with developing dialogue, choosing language appropriate to the context of each story, and expressing the emotions of their characters. However, through practice and collaboration, they gradually became more confident, willing to step outside their comfort zones, and able to bring their performances to life in their own unique ways.”
As the Grand Finale of “Magical Transformations” came to a close, the Organizing Committee congratulated all teams and individuals for their outstanding performances:

The “Magical Transformations” experiential activity not only helped students approach literature in a creative and engaging way but also fostered a deeper appreciation for Vietnamese folk literature. Through this project, literary works were no longer confined to textbook pages but transformed into vivid and meaningful experiences filled with emotion.
We invite parents, teachers, and students to look back on the memorable moments from this year’s Grand Finale of “Magical Transformations.”
