From November 19 to 22, teachers and students enjoyed thrilling matches in the Primary School Boys' and Girls' Football tournament as part of the Greenfield Olympics. Amid the electrifying atmosphere filled with drums, trumpets, and enthusiastic cheers from the supporters, the teams delivered outstanding performances on the field.
PRIMARY SCHOOL BOYS' FOOTBALL (NOV 19 & 21): FINALISTS REVEALED
After securing victories in the first round, teams advanced to the second stage to compete for a spot in the Finals. In Grade 1, 1A1 triumphed over 1C1 and 1A3 with identical 3-2 scores. 1A3 and 1C2 edged past 1G3 and 1A2 in tightly contested matches. Meanwhile, in Grade 2, 2A1 delivered a stellar performance, defeating both 2C1 and 2A4. 2A5 secured a decisive 4-1 win over 2A6, but later fell short in a dramatic penalty shootout against 2A2.
In Grade 3, 3A1 dominated with impressive victories over 3A5 and 3A2, scoring six and seven goals, respectively. 3G2 claimed a 3-1 win over 3G1. Grade 4 witnessed intense competition, with 4A1 stunning the crowd by winning 12-0 against 4C2 and 4-0 against 4G1. 4A4 and 4G1 advanced past 4G3 and 4A5. In Grade 5, thrilling encounters between 5G5 - 5A5 and 5A1 - 5G4 ended with 3-1 and 4-0 scores, earning 5G5 and 5A1 a place in the Finals.
PRIMARY SCHOOL GIRLS' FOOTBALL (NOV 22): HIGH-ENERGY ACTION UNTIL THE FINAL MINUTE
With powerful strikes, 5A4 and 5G2 secured commanding 4-0 victories over 5G1 and 5A2. 5A3 progressed with a narrow 1-0 win against 5G3, while 5G5 dominated with three goals against 5A5. Nail-biting penalty shootouts determined the fate of 5A1 - 5C1 and 5C2 - 5G4, where 5A1 and 5C2 emerged victorious after three tense rounds.
In Grade 4, 4A2 showcased their attacking prowess with a six-goal triumph over 4C1. 4A3, 4G2, and 4G1 secured narrow wins against 4A4, 4A6, and 4C2. 4A5 edged out 4G3 with a 3-2 shootout victory. In Grade 3, 3C1 displayed dominance with a 2-0 win over 3G1. 3A1 and 3G2 won their clashes against 3A4 and 3G3 with 1-0 and 2-1 scores. Meanwhile, 3A3 and 3A2 advanced with single-goal victories over 3A5 and 3C2.
