Ranking first among private schools province-wide; exceeding the national average Math score by 1.29 points; surpassing the provincial average by 0.97 points; and with 31.17% of students scoring 8 or above - these are the stellar achievements of the Grade 12 students at Greenfield School Ecopark Campus in the Mathematics section of the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination.
In recent years, national Math exam papers have broken away from predictable, rigid structures, shifting heavily toward three format types (multiple-choice, true/false, and short-answer questions). This evolution reduces purely academic rote learning, emphasizes multi-skill integration, and steers students toward applying mathematical concepts to real-world problem-solving. In response, Greenfield School Ecopark Campus has adapted its teaching and learning methodologies to help students master the subject.
Ms. Phan Thanh Van, Head of the High School Math Department at Greenfield School Ecopark Campus, shared: "Our department's pedagogical philosophy is simple: while the exam context and formats may change - shifting from multiple-choice one year to true/false or short-answer the next - core knowledge remains absolute. If teachers and students rely on exam shortcuts or dismiss topics thinking 'this came out last year so it won't be on the test this year,' they will inevitably struggle against a highly differentiated exam paper."
At Greenfield School Ecopark Campus, students are guided through major thematic units to master foundational knowledge while honing their mathematical modeling skills, data comprehension, and critical thinking via advanced modules. This solid conceptual foundation allows them to calmly analyze unfamiliar problems and confidently tackle high-application questions under exam conditions.
Furthermore, to ensure mathematics goes beyond dry numbers, the department has implemented an ecosystem of interdisciplinary learning projects and academic competitions spanning all three high school years. GRADE 10 – FOSTERING MODELING THINKING: Students engage with modern geometry through the "Hi Conic" project, solve economic optimization problems via "BizZone," and benchmark their skills against international standards through the "GMath Expedition" competition—a model similar to the TIMO and SASMO math olympiads, where 70% of questions focus on real-world applications and 30% target advanced logical reasoning.
GRADE 11 – FINANCIAL APPLICATIONS AND TESSEL TALK: Students participate in the simulated financial competition Mathgo Finance, resolving real-world scenarios that apply annuity theories and geometric progressions to real estate and bank installment loans under "hot seat" time constraints. Additionally, they review transformations, tessellations, and regular polygons through the interdisciplinary project "Tessel Talk."
GRADE 12 – OPTIMIZATION WITH PROJECT P.O.P (Project on Optimization & Perception): Anticipating the core Calculus curriculum for Grade 12, students take on the role of design consultants, utilizing function analysis tools to solve practical engineering and design problems. Alongside this, the Calc Sprint competition (a fast-paced scientific calculator challenge) helps students master their tools to optimize time management during multiple-choice exams.
