Joyful Mid-Autumn Celebration at GFS Ecopark Campus
25/09/2026
To welcome the eighth lunar month’s full moon, students and teachers at GFS Ecopark Campus gathered around vibrant feast trays, colorful carp lanterns, and star lanterns to celebrate the timeless values of the Reunion Festival.
As another Mid-Autumn season arrived at GFS Ecopark Campus, the school grounds came alive with vivid colors early in the day. Dressed in traditional attire and proudly holding their handcrafted lanterns, teachers, parents, and students eagerly joined the festivities. It was a space where children fully embraced the joy of the present, while adults found a nostalgic path back to their own childhoods.
An indispensable highlight of the celebration was the series of impressive performances by students, including "Moonlight of Childhood" and "Tonight the Moon Shines bright," bringing warmth and cheerful energy to all attendees. The spectacular lion dance, accompanied by resounding ceremonial drums and graceful choreography, captivated the audience, sparking loud cheers from the students.

In the interactive festival area, five activity stations—Craftsmanship, Culture, Folk Games, Challenge, and Discovery—came together like pieces of a colorful childhood mosaic. These hands-on activities allowed students to practice agility, dexterity, and teamwork while sparking a appreciation for traditional folklore. Many parents found themselves pausing, struck by nostalgic memories of playing those same games years ago.

For first-grade students, this marked their very first experiential event at GFS. Meanwhile, older secondary students stepped into the roles of Chú Cuội (the Moon Man) and Chị Hằng (the Moon Goddess) to organize activities and retell classic childhood legends. Across all generations—students, parents, and teachers alike—the sweet taste of mooncakes, the excitement of holding a lantern, and the familiar rhythm of the lion dance drums evoked shared delight.
While Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated as Children's Day, everyone—child or adult—finds a unique way to cherish these traditional cultural values. Above all, the festival offers a precious opportunity to step away from daily routines, gather together, and share meaningful moments of connection and love.
