Greenfield School educators secure First Prize at Vietnam EdTech Expo 2026 with AI-Integrated Math lesson

Combining technical prowess with groundbreaking pedagogical innovation, the teaching team at Greenfield School successfully captured First Prize at Vietnam EdTech Expo 2026 with their lesson design 'The Pyramid Code,' which seamlessly integrated four AI tools.
In the competition, individual participants and teams selected a short lesson topic and developed a demo presentation utilizing at least two AI tools in their instructional design. Outperforming competitors in the preliminary round, the top eight finalists advanced to the Grand Finale at Vietnam EdTech Expo 2026 on August 15, where they presented their innovative concepts and fielded questions from the judging panel.
The judging panel convened leading experts in educational technology and innovation, including Meritorious Teacher Dr. Ton Quang Cuong, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Technology (VNU University of Education); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Hoc, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (Hanoi University of Science and Technology); M.Ed. Nguyen Huyen Trang, Head of the Primary Education Department (Hanoi Training Center for Educational Administrators); and M.Ed. Nguyen Hong Hanh, Head of the Vietnam EdTech Expo 2026 Organizing Committee.
The first-prize winning lesson, titled "The Pyramid Code," was developed by a four-member team from the High School Mathematics Department: Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Van, Mr. Nguyen Chu Xuong, Ms. Nguyen Nhat Anh, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien. Recognizing that Grade 11 students often struggle to identify corresponding heights relative to base areas when learning volume formulas—making conventional formula introductions feel unintuitive—the team transformed the lesson into an engaging discovery quest. In this immersive setup, students step into the shoes of archaeologists deciphering pyramid seals to unlock geometric concepts.
The lesson seamlessly integrated four AI tools: ChatGPT (overall lesson architecture), NotebookLM (synthesizing content into presentation formats), Google Flow (generating the opening teaser video), and Google AI Studio (building an interactive simulation of the "Three Seals," allowing students to manipulate variables, observe changes, and verify geometric properties during application exercises). The Pyramid Code captured the judges' attention with its high practical applicability, illustrating that when leveraged effectively, AI does not replace pedagogical decision-making—it empowers teachers to execute it.
Recalling the moment of victory, team leader Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Van said: "We were genuinely stunned when announced as the top winners. This entry represents immense collective effort—from late-night brainstorming sessions to continuous testing and refinement. Yet, the journey proved to us that the goal is not to stack as much technology as possible, but to select the right tools to bring a pedagogical concept to life."
