Mathgo Finance 2026 grand final: when mathematics becomes the key to decoding financial problems
15/01/2026
In the modern financial world, where even the smallest market fluctuations can lead to major changes, the ability to interpret data and analyze numbers forms the foundation of every investment decision.
From forecasting stock market trends and calculating profits to managing risks, mathematics always plays a vital role in helping people understand and take control of financial principles.
Building on the success of its first season, Mathgo Finance 2026—a competition for Grade 11 students with a passion for finance and investment—has officially returned. Through simulated business scenarios, students were given the opportunity to apply mathematical knowledge to financial contexts, challenge themselves in a competitive environment, and develop strategic thinking skills.

After the preliminary rounds held in classrooms, on the morning of January 15, nine outstanding teams (each consisting of three students) from six classes of the High-Quality Program and the Global Citizen Bilingual Program gathered for the Grand Final. There, the teams competed in three challenges—Financial Expert, Market Turbulence, and Financial Risk—to determine the champion of the season.
In Round 1, Financial Expert, teams answered multiple-choice questions on the Quizizz platform, covering topics such as taxation, savings, investment, and stock chart analysis. With a strong knowledge base, Yêu tinh xanh and Những chú sâu ham học quickly took the lead with eight correct answers, earning 80 points each. Close behind were TF3, Piggy Banky, and Bonebone Juniors (70 points), followed by CTC (60 points), Tam thần số and LYM13 (50 points), while J–Finance temporarily placed last with 40 points.
In Round 2, Market Turbulence, teams applied their knowledge to solve real-life problems related to annuities, savings, investment, and installment payments. The team in the hot seat had the right to buzz in first to answer. Scores were extremely close, with rankings able to change after just one question, making the competition increasingly intense. Yêu tinh xanh maintained stable performance with 70 points, while J–Finance made an impressive breakthrough, scoring 80 points to take the lead in this round.
After the first two rounds, the three teams with the highest total scores—J–Finance, Yêu tinh xanh, and Bonebone Juniors—advanced to the final round, Financial Risk. In this round, teams received question sets from the organizing committee, discussed their strategies, and presented solutions within 10 minutes. The contest became highly tense as J–Finance and Yêu tinh xanh remained neck and neck, eventually moving to a tie-breaker question. With solid knowledge of insurance, risk management, and strong logical reasoning, J–Finance emerged victorious, winning the championship of Mathgo Finance 2026.
At the end of this inspiring journey, the Organizing Committee would like to congratulate:
✔️ First Prize: J–Finance (Phạm Đức Phương Nhi, Đào Hồng Anh – 11A3; Nguyễn Thủy Ngọc Minh – 11A1)
✔️ Second Prize: Yêu tinh xanh (Trần Gia Minh, Vũ Viết Bảo Long, Nguyễn Bùi Hải Tùng – 11G1)
✔️ Third Prize: Bonebone Juniors (Thạch Thị Tú Quyên, Phạm Lê Bảo Trâm, Nguyễn Thị Thùy Trang – 11A2)
Sharing her thoughts, Phạm Đức Phương Nhi from team J–Finance said:
“During the first round, we were quite confused, so our team temporarily ranked last with the lowest score. However, we did not give up. We constantly encouraged one another, stayed calm, and focused fully in the following rounds. Through this learning format, I feel that mathematics is no longer dry or abstract, but becomes more relatable and closely connected to real life.”
The school hopes that after the competition, students not only strengthen their mathematical knowledge but also gain valuable experience, develop thinking skills, and nurture a lasting interest in finance and investment for the future.
