With a perfect score of 400/400, Han Nguyen An Nguyen has claimed the National First Prize at the Grand Finale of the TOEFL Junior Challenge 2025 - 2026. This marks the first time a student from Greenfield School has achieved national recognition in this prestigious academic arena.

Competing against 100 top talents from middle schools nationwide in the National Grand Finale of the TOEFL Junior Challenge 2025–2026, Han Nguyen An Nguyen (Class 9A2, GFS Ecopark Campus) delivered an outstanding performance to secure the First Prize with a perfect score of 400/400. Notably, this is the first time a GFS student has clinched the highest title at the national stage of this competition.
The TOEFL Junior Challenge is an international English competition designed for students in grades 6-9. Organized by IIG Vietnam, the competition assesses students' English proficiency according to the international standards of the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Every year, the event attracts thousands of contestants from various provinces and cities across the country. The 2025–2026 academic year marks the 14th consecutive year the TOEFL Junior Challenge has been held in Vietnam.
To qualify for the National Grand Finale, contestants must navigate highly competitive regional rounds, including the City Selection Round and the City Ranking Round. Specifically, participants take the TOEFL Junior test during the City Selection Round and the TOEIC Listening & Reading test during the City Ranking Round. Top scorers (First, Second, and Third prizes) from the City Ranking Round advance to the National Grand Finale, where their skills are evaluated through the TOEFL Speaking & Writing test.
Sharing her joy upon receiving the results, An Nguyen said: "I learned about the TOEFL Junior Challenge through my teacher. Encouraged by her and my family, I decided to challenge myself and register. Winning the First Prize with a perfect score of 400/400 came as a huge surprise to me, as all the contestants who made it to the National Grand Finale were exceptional. Beyond gaining hands-on experience with international standard test formats, this achievement gives me more confidence in my English abilities."
Commenting on An Nguyen's academic prowess, Ms. Nguyen Thi La—her homeroom teacher, Head of the Middle School English Department, and competition mentor—remarked: "An Nguyen's English skills are highly proficient, even though she is only in the 9th grade. She is always serious, diligent, and relentless in pursuing her goals. Furthermore, she has consistently challenged herself in debate competitions and previously won First Prize at the Greenfield Debating Championship for the 2025–2026 academic year."
An Nguyen's achievement is a testament to her perseverance and unyielding drive to excel. At the same time, this success reaffirms that English is a cornerstone of strength at GFS. It reflects the effectiveness of the school's strategic investments in maximizing the English curriculum, ranging from teaching staff and lesson content to international-standard assessment methodologies.
Once again, GFS extends its warmest congratulations to An Nguyen! May you maintain your self-belief, continuous learning spirit, and passion for education to soar higher and conquer new horizons!
