Study Hard – Play Hard: Grade 9 Students Boost Team Spirit at “Talent Day Festival”

14/05/2026

For the first time, the interdisciplinary activity “Talent Day Festival”, organized for students in the Grade 9 pathway classes (9E, 9GE, and 9C), brought a dynamic series of challenges combining Mathematics, Literature, English, STEAM, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.

Through physical challenges, code-breaking tasks, and public speaking activities, students had the opportunity to apply academic knowledge while developing quick reflexes, logical thinking, teamwork, and confidence in presenting in front of an audience.

To prepare for the program, subject departments spent nearly three weeks collaboratively designing content, building challenge systems, and providing guidance for students. According to Ms. Cao Thu Phuong, Head of the Lower Secondary Literature Department, the biggest challenge for the teachers was ensuring that the activities were both suitable for students’ abilities and engaging enough for all students to participate actively and bring out their individual strengths within a team.

Grade 9 students enthusiastically took on physical challenges, code-breaking tasks, and public speaking activities in the “Talent Day Festival.”

In the “Talent Opening” round, students entered a physical challenge combined with knowledge questions. Smooth coordination in transferring balls using pickleball paddles, along with quick reactions under time pressure, made the competition atmosphere at each station extremely lively. After successfully scoring each ball, teams moved on to draw questions and answer them amid enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

The competitive atmosphere continued to intensify in the “Intellectual Duel” round, where teams solved encrypted messages collaboratively. Faced with analytical and data-connecting questions, team members continuously discussed, reasoned, and worked together to find the correct answers. The final pieces gradually formed messages representing familiar Greenfield School values, including the core values, school slogan, and the academic year theme.

The program concluded with the “Confidence Speech” round, where students confidently presented their viewpoints on familiar school-life topics. Despite limited preparation time, the teams delivered well-structured presentations with interesting perspectives and demonstrated strong adaptability in response to other teams.

Team spirit, seamless coordination, and explosive energy created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

Across three highly competitive rounds, teams continuously delivered impressive performances. In the “Talent Opening” round, teams 9E5, 9C1, and 9G1 initially led the rankings, while in the “Intellectual Duel,” 9E1 and 9E2 rose strongly with outstanding thinking and collaboration skills. In the “Confidence Speech” round, 9E4 recorded the highest score. However, after all three rounds were totaled, 9G2 emerged as the overall winner with 600.5 points, thanks to consistent performance, strong teamwork, and solid academic foundation throughout the event.

Intense competitions and lively cheering created many memorable moments for the students.

Throughout the festival, Grade 9 students brought an energetic atmosphere with enthusiasm, teamwork, and excitement in every challenge. Continuous cheering and focused, passionate expressions on the students’ faces contributed to a lively and memorable experience.

Greenfield School believes that the “Talent Day Festival” has provided students with meaningful learning experiences, helping them learn to connect, collaborate, and create lasting memories together before transitioning to Grade 10. Parents are warmly invited to look back at the most memorable moments of the program.
