The Secondary Boys’ Football Tournament kicks off with thrilling matchups.

The Secondary Boys’ Football tournament officially kicked off today with an explosive opening performance from teams in Grades 6, 7, and 8. As the “king of sports,” football matches at the Greenfield Olympics always attract enthusiastic support and attention from spectators, thanks to the players’ passionate and dedicated spirit on the field.

With a knockout format, the teams entered the matches with great determination, delivering intense score chases and thrilling moments. The atmosphere on the field heated up with loud cheers from the crowd, and several matches had to be decided by penalty shootouts to determine the advancing teams.

Emotions erupted after every goal, as excitement filled the stands.

In Grade 6, the match between Yellow Bear (6G4, 6A3) and Purple Eagle (6G1, 6C1, 6A1) was evenly contested. After a 1–1 draw in regular time, the two teams went into a tense penalty shootout, where Purple Eagle secured a 2–1 victory. Meanwhile, Blue Dolphin (6G3, 6A2) claimed a 2–0 win against the determined Green Elephant (6C2, 6A4).

The matches highlighted the players’ efforts through fierce challenges and determined play.

In Grade 7, Green Elephant (7G2, 7A4) defeated Orange Tiger (7C2, 7A6, 7A7) with a 3–1 scoreline after a series of well-coordinated plays. In the other match, Purple Eagle (7A2, 7A5) demonstrated their strength with a convincing victory over Blue Dolphin (7G1, 7A3). In Grade 8, Purple Eagle (8G2, 8A2, 8A8) delivered an exciting performance to overcome Blue Dolphin (8C1, 8A7), while Orange Tiger (8C2, 8A1, 8A4) also advanced after defeating Yellow Bear (8G3, 8A5).

Alongside the joy of victory, there were also moments of bittersweet disappointment.

After intense matches, six teams secured their places in the next round: Purple Eagle (6G1, 6C1, 6A1); Blue Dolphin (6G3, 6A2); Green Elephant (7G2, 7A4); Purple Eagle (7A2, 7A5); Purple Eagle (8G2, 8A2, 8A8); and Orange Tiger (8C2, 8A1, 8A4).

Congratulations to all teams for a successful opening day, showcasing great sportsmanship and strong team spirit. Tomorrow, the Greenfield Olympics will continue with more exciting matches in the Boys’ Football category for Grades 10 and 11. Parents and teachers are encouraged to keep cheering and supporting the students!
