Bridging Mathematics and Economic & Legal Education, Grade 10 students embark on entrepreneurial journey to win over investors
19/12/2025
Can 10th graders draft a comprehensive business plan and confidently pitch to "shrewd" investors to secure funding? This question was answered at the "Biz Zone" showcase - an interdisciplinary project combining Mathematics and Economic & Legal Education - held for students at Greenfield School Ecopark Campus on the morning of December 19, 2025.
In this project, young entrepreneurs were tasked with applying mathematical knowledge of linear inequalities and systems of linear inequalities in two variables, alongside business planning theories from their Economic & Legal Education curriculum. Their goal: to design and operate a stall at the 2025 Charity Tet Fair that maximizes profitability.
Following three months of theoretical study and meticulous preparation, the students entered the "Pitching Circle." The investment panel featured not only subject teachers but also parents who are experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts.
The pitching round saw 30 startups from eight classes present comprehensive and highly feasible business models. Beyond data-driven market analysis and rigorous profit-and-loss projections, the startups showcased creative marketing strategies, including "Megalive" streaming sessions and original brand-identity songs.
Thirty startups from eight classes presented well-structured, comprehensive, and detailed business plans that demonstrated both strategic sharpness and high feasibility.
These "young entrepreneurs" were required to apply their knowledge of Mathematics and Economic & Legal Education to operate stalls at the 2025 Charity Tet Fair with the goal of maximizing profitability.
The startups also employed creative marketing and presentation techniques, such as hosting "megalive" streaming sessions and performing original songs tied to their brand identity.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuong Le, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Management (Vietnam National University of Agriculture), expressed her admiration: "I saw a clear effort from the students to use Mathematics to balance costs, quality, and profit—a far-from-simple task. Simultaneously, they approached economic and legal factors with a level of sophistication well beyond their years".
From a corporate perspective, investor Nguyen Thi Thuy, Director of Vien Dong Trade and Tourism Co., Ltd., noted: "Despite their age, the students were remarkably professional in slide preparation, conceptualization, and financial modeling. 'Biz Zone' provides a foundation that will help these students navigate and succeed in any future field".
Serving as investors, parents provided the startups with highly practical feedback and professional insights.
Do Bao Chau (Class 10G1), co-founder of "Goc Nha Ba Nhi"—a project that successfully secured investment—shared enthusiastically: "Through this project, we realized that knowledge isn't just abstract; it's practical and full of life. Our planning, presentation, and teamwork skills have improved significantly. Most importantly, we received invaluable, real-world feedback from the investors".
Now in its fourth season, "Biz Zone" has established itself as a vital playground where students bridge the gap between theory and practice while igniting a passion for entrepreneurship. With such thorough preparation, these business plans are set to come to life at the 2025 Charity Tet Fair, promising impressive results.
