Empowering Homeroom Teachers: Embarking on a journey to build a "Happy Home"

22/07/2026

On July 21–22, 2026, Greenfield School Ecopark Campus organized a specialized training workshop titled "The Home Builders – Elevating the Role of Homeroom Teachers for the 2026–2027 Academic Year," attended by the entire Middle and High School faculty.

In the educational journey, homeroom teachers serve not only as classroom managers but also as trusted companions, character mentors, and vital bridges connecting students, families, and the school. Recognizing this strategic role, Greenfield School believes that investing thoroughly in homeroom management is an investment in core and sustainable educational quality.

Led by lead homeroom coordinators, the two-day program delivered highly practical insights and inspiring experiences for all participating teachers.

Beyond the students' primary homes, school serves as a second family—a place where they are nurtured, loved, and empowered to grow up happily. Embracing this philosophy, the training program was structured around a four-stage framework modeled after building a sustainable home:

  • Stage 1 – Building the Nest: Teachers re-examined the role, mission, and core values of homeroom teachers within the context of modern education.

  • Stage 2 – Preserving the Nest: Standardizing homeroom management procedures, reporting protocols, and incident handling guidelines to cultivate a safe, disciplined, and loving classroom environment.

  • Stage 3 – Guiding the Way: Enhancing crisis resolution skills, applying positive discipline techniques, and accompanying students through standardized processes and real-world case studies.

  • Stage 4 – Elevating Wings: Designing homeroom lesson plans, organizing Integration Week, shaping classroom culture, establishing student council frameworks, creating experiential activity modules, and conducting mock teaching sessions in preparation for the upcoming academic year.

Throughout the workshop, teachers actively engaged in lively discussions. The interactive team-building tasks, common classroom scenarios, and authentic stories shared during the sessions not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also reignited the teachers' passion for their profession, reinforcing their confidence as "home builders."

Sharing his thoughts after the program, Mr. Nguyen Chu Xuong (High School Mathematics Department) noted:

"What impressed me most was that the program did not merely standardize administrative workflows; it provided practical case studies for us to analyze and resolve together. I am confident that these insights and experiences will help every teacher accompany their students with greater poise in the new school year."

Having served as a homeroom teacher for many years, Ms. Nguyen Anh (High School English Department) also shared a heartfelt perspective:

"A happy home is not built by an extraordinary individual, but by people who understand their distinct roles, execute their responsibilities well, and work toward a shared vision. When homeroom teachers clearly understand their mission, the school becomes a true home—a place where students thrive, parents trust, and every school day becomes a memorable journey."

A new school year begins with the dedicated preparation of teachers. As the faculty aligns under a shared direction and places students at the center of every initiative, Greenfield School stands fully prepared to welcome students back to their second home—ready to empower them on their journey toward self-reliance, knowledge creation, and shaping their own futures in the 2026–2027 academic year.
