As part of the interdisciplinary project combining Literature, History, Geography, and Life Skills, Season 2 of the GREENFIELD Talks competition—a captivating public speaking playground for 8th and 11th graders—has officially begun. To gear up for this event, the Kick-off session took place this morning, receiving enthusiastic participation from a large number of students.
The program was inspired by guest speaker Mr. Le Hoang Long, Founder and Head Organizer of TEDxHanoi. During the session, he provided students with an overview of TED-style presentations, key secrets to delivering a successful speech, and common mistakes to avoid. Additionally, he shared insights about notable Vietnamese speakers who have taken the TEDxHanoi stage, including MC Duc Bao, Miss Luong Thuy Linh, and singer Vu Dinh Trong Thang.

As the Founder of TEDxHanoi, Mr. Le Hoang Long emphasized that a great speech should be seen as a "gift of knowledge" to the audience. This gift should meet three key criteria: (1) valuable content, (2) an appealing presentation, and (3) a genuine, thoughtful delivery. He encouraged students to craft their speeches through deep research, personal experience, and creative expression.

The students demonstrated their proactiveness, eagerness to learn, and desire to connect by asking insightful questions during the Q&A session with the speaker. Topics included how to be more confident on stage and how to make a speech more engaging. Some valuable tips from the speaker included: “Prepare thoroughly”, “Arrive early to test the mic and get familiar with the stage” and “If you feel the audience isn’t listening, pause for a few moments.”

The session also featured impressive sample speeches from Khánh Minh (12G1), Quỳnh Châu (12G1), Ngọc Khánh (9A5), and Thảo Nguyên (9A6), winners of GREENFIELD Talks Season 1. Their speeches, titled "The Journey to Winning GREENFIELD Talks" and "Forged by Challenges" not only shared valuable lessons but also conveyed meaningful messages to their peers.

With a wealth of new skills and insights, students are now well-prepared to take on the GREENFIELD Talks competition with confidence. Parents, teachers, and students, stay tuned for the upcoming performances from our 8th and 11th graders!
