Grade 7 students explore national history at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel
11/03/2025
This morning, the Grade 7 students of the High-Quality Program had an experiential field trip to the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Complex - a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized in 2010.
During the trip, the students had the opportunity to listen to a guided presentation about Doan Mon - the most important main gate of the Forbidden City of Thang Long, and Kinh Thien Palace - the highest symbol of national power of Dai Viet throughout four centuries. Notably, teachers and students held a solemn ceremony to offer incense and tributes in memory of the emperors at the courtyard of Kinh Thien Palace.

The students attentively listened to the tour guide's stories at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Throughout the visit, they also had the chance to observe valuable artifacts and ancient relics reflecting 13 centuries of historical imprints at the exhibition room "Thang Long - Hanoi: A Thousand Years of History Unearthed." Moreover, the students explored the revolutionary house and underground shelter D6 to learn about the resilient lives of soldiers and civilians during the resistance war against the United States.

Besides exploring and learning about history, the students participated in an exciting activity of making handmade kites. For many of them, it was the first time crafting and flying their own kites, and they could not hide their excitement as they watched the colorful kites soar high against the sky. This meaningful activity marked the end of the trip with plenty of joy and unforgettable experiences.

Greenfield School hopes that through this journey, the students have gained deeper insights into the pages of Vietnamese history, fostering a greater love and respect for the nation's roots and heritage.
