Grade 8 students shine at the EnerZ 2024 Finals
30/10/2024
This morning, 45 Grade 8 students proudly advanced to the EnerZ 2024 Finals. This enriching academic competition provides students with an opportunity to explore and develop innovative solutions for reducing energy consumption in daily life, raising awareness about the importance of energy conservation, while also honing creative thinking and teamwork skills.
At the competition, 9 teams (five members each) competed in 3 exciting and intense rounds:
Round 1 – Magnetic Clue
With 20 keywords represented by symbols, teams had to connect the symbols to identify the correct keyword. Each correct answer earned 10 Watts. With sharp reasoning and applied science knowledge, Teams 8A1 and 8G1 answered 18 questions correctly, gaining 180 Watts. Teams 8A2, 8A3, 8A4, and 8G2 closely followed with 170 Watts.

Round 2 – Ampere Challenge
Teams tackled 15 questions about energy conservation, efficient electricity usage, and electrical safety. Facing tough questions, Teams 8A3, 8A4, and 8C1 made quick and accurate choices within 20 seconds, securing 140 Watts. Meanwhile, Teams 8A6, 8G1, and 8G2 scored 130 Watts with 13 correct answers.
After two rounds, Teams 8A3, 8A4, and 8G1 advanced to the final round with 310 Watts. Teams 8G2 and 8A1, tied in points, entered a tiebreaker challenge, “Signal Catch”, where they had 2 minutes to guess keywords through drawings. Team 8A1 secured the last spot in the final round by answering three correct guesses.

Round 3 – “Electric Hero”
In the final challenge, Teams 8A3, 8A4, 8G1, and 8A1 completed two technical tasks: (1) Selecting the correct equipment from an experiment kit. (2) Assembling an electric circuit where the light turned on when the switch was flipped left and the fan spun when flipped right. With incredible speed and precision, Team 8G1 successfully completed the challenge in just 6.5 minutes, winning the final round.

Congratulations to the winners:
- First Prize: Team 8G1
- Second Prize: Team 8A3
- Third Prize: Teams 8A1 & 8A4
Additionally, the Poster Design Contest on “Energy Conservation” awarded:
- “Most Creative” Award (chosen by organizers): Han Nguyen An Nguyen, Le Duc Lam, Pham Quang Huan – 8A2
- “Most Popular Artwork” Award (audience vote): Hoang Ky Duyen – 8C1
