Grade 9-12 students explore Business Analysis in the digital age
20/02/2025
After more than a decade of rapid development, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of modern society. In this context, young people stand at a crossroads: either harness AI as a tool for growth or risk being left behind by the fast-paced evolution of technology.
Kicking off a series of insightful career-oriented workshops, this morning, students from Grades 9 to 12 participated in a workshop titled "Business Analysis (BA) in the Age of AI." The session was led by Mr. Vu Nhat Huy, a Business Analyst at VinAI—one of the world's Top 20 AI research companies. He also brings years of experience working at Arthur D. Little, Aurora Advisory, and other strategic consulting firms in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the workshop, Mr. Nhat Huy shared his journey to becoming a Business Analyst. Drawing from his extensive real-world experience, he provided students with a comprehensive overview of the field, emphasizing that business analysis involves processing and interpreting data to develop optimal business solutions, enhance company processes, and better meet customer needs.

To help students visualize the business analysis process, he used Lego assembly as an analogy: (1) Individual Lego pieces represent problem identification; (2) Sorting by color and size mimics data collection and processing; (3) Assembling smaller sections symbolizes analysis; (4) Connecting all parts into a complete model illustrates solution design; (5) The final assembled Lego model represents the presentation of the proposed solution.
From the speaker’s perspective, the digital age is bringing profound transformations to the business analysis industry. While AI serves as a powerful tool, it cannot fully replace human analysts. However, as he highlighted, "You may not be replaced by AI, but you can be replaced by someone who knows how to use AI better than you." He also outlined essential skills for a successful Business Analyst, including analytical thinking, management, negotiation, decision-making, and communication.

One of the workshop’s highlights was a hands-on case study challenge, where students took on the role of Business Analysts to tackle a "Lego Space Station" project. Applying their newly acquired knowledge, they completed their analyses within just 10 minutes, impressing both the speaker and teachers with their sharp problem-solving, data interpretation, and critical thinking skills.

Through this session, we hope the students gained valuable insights into Business Analysis, helping them make informed career decisions and prepare for their future passions.
