Homeroom teachers: A journey of character development and the art of classroom leadership

28/07/2025

The training course "Homeroom teacher development for primary school Level" entered its second day today, July 29.

On the first day of the training course, participating teachers gained a clearer understanding of the role of the homeroom teacher and the importance of building relationships with students. On the second day, the program continued to delve deeper into essential values such as professional ethics and effective classroom management skills.

In the morning session, Group 2 led the workshop titled “The Role and Qualities of the Homeroom Teacher in the Modern Era.” Through this topic, teachers were invited to reflect on their own journeys as educators and the teachers who once guided them. This introspection helped highlight the changes in educational contexts over time and emphasized the need to adjust in ways that foster a sense of safety for students and reassurance for parents. Participants actively discussed the core ethical values and exemplary conduct expected of a homeroom teacher, demonstrating both dedication and a strong desire for professional growth.

In the afternoon, Group 5 continued with the topic: “Effective Classroom Management Techniques and Common Situation Handling.” The session focused on essential strategies for creating a positive learning environment. Beyond subject expertise, homeroom teachers must also be responsive and flexible when addressing daily classroom challenges. Through real-life case studies and shared experiences, teachers opened up about their professional journeys, collaboratively exploring practical solutions and drawing valuable lessons for future practice.

This training course not only enhanced the teachers' professional skills and approach to student engagement, but also deepened their understanding of the educator’s mission in the context of ongoing educational reform. Equipped with these new insights and tools, our teachers are ready to accompany students and parents into the new school year with confidence, openness, and renewed inspiration.
