Igniting the entrepreneurial spirit with 10th-grade students
29/10/2024
Inspired by the Vietnamese TV show Shark Tank, the interdisciplinary project “Million-Dollar Deal" in Mathematics, Economics, and Law has officially returned. This exciting initiative promises to be a valuable playground where 10th-grade students apply their knowledge of Mathematics and Economics - Law to develop business plans, gearing up for the Tet Nhan Ai 2025 event.
To prepare for the project, the "Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit" Kick-off event was held this morning, with nearly 200 10th-grade students enthusiastically participating. Accompanying the program was guest speaker Ms. Le Nguyen Thien Nga—CEO of V-Startup Vietnam Investment and Development Group, Chairwoman of the Policy Research and Brand Development Council of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, and Chief Research Expert leading the project "From Policy to Practice".

At the event, Ms. Thien Nga shared insights into the entrepreneurial journey, self-discovery, and essential skills for launching a business project. She emphasized that in order to determine what to focus on at each stage of life, students should answer three key questions: (1) Everything in life can be summed up in seven words—nothing is impossible, (2) What is your color? Who do you dream of becoming?, (3) Are the people you meet, the work you do, and the environment you choose helping you become the person you aspire to be?
As a network connecting startups, investors, experts, and government agencies, V-Startup has supported businesses across various sectors over the years, including legal procedures, media, workspace, investment, and market development. Drawing from V-Startup’s experience, Ms. Thien Nga provided students with an overview of the essential steps in establishing a business, how to build a strong support network, and ways to generate innovative startup ideas that attract investors.
The engaging real-world lessons and inspiring insights from the CEO of V-Startup Vietnam sparked curiosity among students, leading to numerous thought-provoking questions. Many also boldly shared their dreams and previous entrepreneurial experiences—some had even worked on business projects with older peers during summer break. In return, they received not only encouragement and recognition from the guest speaker but also valuable feedback and practical advice to refine their ideas and develop future plans.

How will these budding entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life? Can a 10th-grade student truly kick-start a business or confidently pitch their project to a panel of “sharks” and secure investment? Parents and teachers, let’s stay tuned and support our students on their exciting journey ahead!
