Impressed by the “Fruit Kingdom” in the Grade 4 English lesson

09/12/2025

Recently, a colorful “Fruit Kingdom” came to life during the Grade 4A4 English lesson (High-Quality Program). Here, the students transformed into “fruit warriors,” using English to showcase both their language skills and social knowledge.

Right from the warm-up activity, the classroom buzzed with excitement as the teacher took on the role of the “Fruit Queen,” introducing a rich treasure trove of knowledge about the world of fruits and vegetables. The students were divided into five teams, each with a cute name: Brave Carrots, Happy Tomatoes, Clever Oranges, Sweet Bananas, and Fresh Apples. The teams then took turns participating in a series of games to earn points for their respective “kingdoms.”

The teams, with their adorable nicknames, eagerly competed to earn points for their group.
Following the team division, the class reviewed vocabulary on the topic of Fruits & Vegetables through the Magic Box activity, allowing the students to practice speaking by describing the fruits and vegetables hidden inside the secret box. The lesson then continued with the KWL strategy (Know – Want to know – Learned) to explore the topic of chili peppers. Guided by the “Fruit Queen”’s thought-provoking questions, the students were encouraged to share what they already knew and what they wanted to learn, fostering active questioning and exploratory thinking rather than passively receiving information.
The students were highly engaged and delighted with these creative activities thoughtfully prepared by Ms. Thanh Nhàn.

After the lesson, student Nguyễn Hà Linh shared, “I really enjoyed today’s lesson. I not only improved my listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, but also expanded my vocabulary on the topic of fruits.” Meanwhile, Nguyễn Hữu Chương said, “Through this lesson, I learned more about the origin, nutritional value—especially the high Vitamin C content—and health benefits of chili peppers.” Thanks to these interesting insights, the lesson unfolded in an enthusiastic, joyful atmosphere full of positive competition.
