Self-Discovery – Owning the Path: Cambridge International Grade 8 Students Ready to Excel at A Level

21/01/2026

Grade 9 is not only the final year of lower secondary education but also a pivotal stage that determines the breakthrough of students in the Cambridge pathway. To support students with thorough and confident preparation, this afternoon (January 21, 2026), the Career Guidance Department of Greenfield School – Ecopark Campus organized the program “Academic and Career Orientation” for Grade 8 students.

At the program, the academic teaching team provided students with a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the Cambridge International General Education programme, with a particular focus on the A Level pathway at Greenfield School – Ecopark Campus:

✔️ A STRUCTURED INTERNATIONAL LEARNING PATHWAY
The Cambridge International curriculum is implemented across all three school levels. From Grade 9, students begin studying AS & A Level and complete the A Level qualification by no later than the first semester of Grade 12. The integration of IGCSE with AS & A Level ensures that students meet Cambridge standards in academic knowledge, English proficiency, skills development, and scientific learning approaches.

✔️ OPTIMISED INTEGRATION OF VIETNAMESE & INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES
The school delivers the Vietnamese National Curriculum (MOET) alongside the Cambridge AS & A Level programme. As a result, students fully participate in MOET assessments and examinations, earning nationally recognized diplomas and certificates, while also obtaining the Cambridge AS & A Level qualification.

✔️ IN-DEPTH STUDY OF FOUR CORE SUBJECTS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH
Students select one of two subject combinations aligned with their career aspirations and individual strengths:
– Engineering Track (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
– Business Track (Mathematics, Business, Computer Science)
All subjects are taught entirely in English, enabling students to build the academic knowledge and skills required for university admission.

✔️ PROFESSIONAL TEACHING STAFF & ACADEMIC ADVISORS
Students are taught and mentored by highly qualified teachers with specialized pedagogical credentials, degrees from prestigious universities worldwide, and extensive experience delivering the Cambridge AS & A Level curriculum. In addition, dedicated academic advisors accompany students throughout their learning journey, providing career guidance and support in preparing university application portfolios.

✔️ A SPRINGBOARD TO TOP UNIVERSITIES WORLDWIDE
The Cambridge AS & A Level qualification is widely recognized and prioritized by universities in the UK and over 50 countries worldwide, including many top-ranked institutions. In Vietnam, the A Level qualification enables direct admission to leading public universities such as Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, among others.

✔️ POSITIONING STUDENTS ON THE CAREER MAP
During the program, students also explored the “Career Tree” model by Phoenix Ho and Holland’s theory. Through practical examples across technical, artistic, managerial, and social fields, Grade 8 students began identifying their own positions on the future career landscape.

The program concluded with a direct discussion session between students, career guidance experts, and the AS & A Level teaching team. Orientation surveys collected during the workshop will serve as an important foundation for the school and families to continue monitoring progress and providing personalized guidance for each student in the years ahead.

Throughout the session, students had valuable opportunities to listen, ask questions, and receive in-depth answers from the professional teaching team.

With thorough preparation and strong support, it is hoped that students will enter Grade 9 with confidence and clarity. The school’s close partnership with families, together with a well-structured Cambridge AS & A Level pathway, will serve as a solid launchpad for students to pursue and achieve their highest academic goals.
