Students in Grades 7–8 learn how to develop skills for building healthy relationships.

08/01/2026

Sometimes, a timely pause can help soothe emotions and make relationships healthier. With this in mind, Stop Station No. 2 offered students in Grades 7–8 a safe space to explore the theme “Healthy Love,” learning how to listen, empathize, and protect themselves in their relationships.

Over the two days of January 7–8, Stop Station No. 2 helped students understand what constitutes a toxic relationship and how to recognize it through three typical “zones”: the “Puppet Zone,” where feelings of guilt and self-doubt arise; the “Iron Cage Zone,” where freedom and the right to choose are controlled; and the “Thorn Zone,” which makes students feel inadequate and hurt in terms of self-worth.

Beyond identification, students were introduced to appropriate and safe coping strategies through the 3S model (Stop – Share – Solution), learning how to pause at the right time, share their feelings, and actively seek solutions when facing potentially negative relationships. At the same time, the DEAR MAN strategy was introduced as a tool to help students communicate clearly, express their needs, and set personal boundaries respectfully, building confidence to protect themselves while maintaining empathy for others.

At the “Stop Station,” worries are left at the door, making space for rest, relaxation, and heartfelt sharing.
Going beyond theoretical discussion, Stop Station No. 2 also offered engaging experiential activities, including interactive games, group work, and a themed crossword on “Healthy Love.” Through these activities, students not only reviewed what they had learned but also had the opportunity to connect with friends and observe their own emotions in an open and safe environment.
Students learned to distinguish between “healthy love” and “distorted love” through scenario-based statements provided by professional psychologists.

The Stop Station workshop series will continue for Grade 6 students with the theme “Growing Up,” scheduled from January 19–23. Greenfield School believes that each Stop Station is not only an activity to enhance psychological knowledge but also a source of emotional support, helping students grow stronger, more confident, and more self-aware on their journey to maturity.
