Class 10G2 students join hands with Endangered Primate Rescue Center to protect endangered primates in Vietnam.

30/03/2026

With the aim of fostering harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, raising awareness about biodiversity conservation, and directly contributing to the protection of Vietnam’s endangered primates from the risk of extinction, students of Class 10G2 have come together to implement the community project “Herology.”

The project is supported by the Endangered Primate Rescue Center (EPRC)—a leading non-profit organization in Indochina specializing in the rescue and rehabilitation of endemic primates at Cuc Phuong National Park.

In preparation for the project, students recently had the opportunity to meet and listen to insights from EPRC representatives: Ms. Chu Nguyễn Kim Anh, Education and Communications Officer, and Mr. Felix Hausburg, an international volunteer from Germany. With years of experience in wildlife protection and conservation, the team works tirelessly to ensure the survival of species listed in the Red Data Book.

Ms. Chu Nguyễn Kim Anh, Education and Communications Officer, delivered insightful and inspiring sharing to the students of Class 10G2.

During the session, the speakers provided students with an overview of the crucial role primates play in ecosystems, the alarming realities of illegal wildlife trade and hunting, and the ongoing conservation efforts to rehabilitate and reintroduce species such as the Delacour’s langur, Hà Tĩnh langur, and gray-shanked douc langur back into the wild.

Students had the opportunity to interact directly with the speaker and exchange insights on the topic of endangered primates in Vietnam.

Students also had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, exchanging ideas and discussing topics related to endangered primates in Vietnam. Through case studies on wildlife conservation, they explored different protection methods, shared insightful perspectives, and actively discussed practical actions to help prevent extinction, along with creative ideas to be implemented in the near future.

Reflecting on the workshop, Nguyễn Duy Thanh Nguyên, Project Leader of “Herology,” shared: “The knowledge from the experts helped me deeply understand the alarming situation facing wildlife today. It made me realize my responsibility and role in this project. I hope Herology can spread these valuable messages not only to GFS students but also to the wider community.”

Class 10G2 took a group photo with their subject teachers and the guest speakers.

Following this session, students will continue promoting a culture of nature conservation through the Herology fundraising campaign (March–April). A key highlight of the project will be the sale of products such as juice and handheld fans to raise funds supporting rescue efforts, along with a field trip to Cuc Phuong National Park, where students will directly observe primates and learn about conservation work on-site.
