“Upet” Project: 10G3 Students Join Hands to Raise Funds for Stray Dogs and Cats
23/05/2026
A total of VND 10,521,000 was raised—far exceeding the project's initial goal. This remarkable achievement marked the meaningful outcome of more than three months of dedicated effort by students of class 10G3 (Global Citizen Bilingual Program) through their “UPet” project.
As part of the Community Project curriculum, “UPet” was not only a charitable initiative but also a journey through which students spread compassion, raised awareness about animal welfare, and learned how to make a positive impact on the community through their own efforts.
Partnering with UPet was Hanoi Pet Adoption (HPA), a non-profit pet rescue organization based in Hanoi. To bring the project to life, the students developed plans, assigned responsibilities, and carried out a range of activities themselves. The journey began with a field trip to HPA in February 2026. During the visit, students had the opportunity to meet and care for abandoned dogs and cats while listening to real-life rescue stories, helping them better understand the responsibilities humans have toward animals.
Inspired by their experience at HPA, the students photographed the animals, selected images, and designed and produced merchandise such as keychains and stickers based on the dogs and cats they had met. What made the project particularly special was that every fundraising product was conceived, designed, and created entirely by the students. This stage also proved to be the most time-consuming and demanding, requiring significant creativity, dedication, and effort throughout the project.
The merchandise was sold through both online and offline channels during March and April 2026, receiving enthusiastic support from parents, teachers, and students across Greenfield School. On the morning of May 22, the students of 10G3 presented the entire fundraising amount to HPA to support the care, medical treatment, and living conditions of the rescued animals at the shelter.
A representative of Hanoi Pet Adoption shared: “Through this project, Greenfield School students have demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and genuine compassion for abandoned animals. Despite their young age, they have shown remarkable maturity and taken meaningful action. The funds raised through this project will provide valuable support, enabling our shelter to better care for the animals. We hope that this love for animals and commitment to community service will continue to inspire others in the future.”
Through the UPet project, students not only developed teamwork, project-management, and creative-content skills but also learned the importance of empathy, compassion, and contributing positively to society. Every product sold became a bridge connecting people with a shared desire to help less fortunate animal companions.
We invite parents, teachers, and students to look back on the memorable moments from the UPet community project below!
