"Giat la Sang" - Greenfield School Students Spread Positive Values Through Small Actions

04/12/2024

After meeting with community partners at school and taking a field trip to the laundromat in September and October, the students of class 11G1 have begun meaningful initiatives to bring their support project for Giat la Sang—a laundromat run by the Deaf— to life. Their project focuses on two main activities: creating promotional videos for the laundromat’s TikTok channel and setting up a booth to encourage service registrations.

With insights shared by Ms. Ha Nhi—an alumna of the British University Vietnam and owner of a TikTok channel that gained 5,000 followers in just four months—the students learned valuable tips on content creation to enhance Giat la Sang’s online presence. Applying these strategies, they produced three short videos during their visit to the laundromat, which quickly garnered nearly 2,000 views after being posted.

This past week, the 11G1 students also set up a service registration booth right at school. Through engaging activities like teaching basic sign language for communication, they successfully attracted peers and teachers, securing 20 service sign-ups and selling nearly 50 shoe-cleaning kits to further support the initiative.

The service registration booth set up by the students attracted great interest from their fellow schoolmates.

"Kindness, no matter how small, is never wasted." The results our students achieved through this project may seem modest, but they hold meaningful contributions—not only to Giặt là Sáng but also to the students’ own awareness. It is a reflection of their sense of social responsibility, compassion, and desire to spread positive values, joining hands to build a better community.

Nearly 20 pairs of shoes were brought to Giặt là Sáng by our students after running the service registration booth.

Through these meaningful projects, Greenfield School believes that our students have gained valuable experiences, enhanced their awareness, and developed greater empathy for different circumstances in society. Above all, each student has the opportunity to cultivate creative thinking, problem-solving skills, project management abilities, and a strong desire to contribute positively to the community.
