Trap or Opportunity? Resetting Cyber Safety Mindsets with Class 11G1
09/04/2026
Following a workshop led by experts from Hagar Vietnam and an awareness campaign conducted through an information booth, the “Ctrl Z” project by Class 11G1 entered its third phase with a workshop titled “Safe Horizon: Trap or Chance.”
The event once again reaffirmed the project's core mission: raising awareness and equipping Greenfield School students with essential safety skills to recognize and prevent human trafficking risks in an increasingly digitalized world.
According to a 2024 report by Vietnam’s National Cybersecurity Association, one out of every 220 smartphone users in Vietnam becomes a victim of online fraud, with total annual losses estimated at VND 18.9 trillion. Notably, students are among the three groups most frequently targeted by cybercriminals due to their limited real-world experience and vulnerability to increasingly sophisticated scams.
Recognizing this reality, the students of Class 11G1 organized the “Safe Horizon: Trap or Chance” workshop to help Greenfield School students identify online threats and learn practical ways to protect themselves in digital environments. After nearly two months of preparation, the event officially launched and attracted nearly 60 high school students.
The workshop stood out thanks to its diverse and engaging format. Activities ranged from scenario-based performances and mini-talks featuring real-world statistics to interactive games such as “Profile Detective” and “Scam Showdown: Who Is the Kidnapper?” Through these experiences, participants not only learned to recognize common online scams but also practiced responding to simulated situations and strengthened their personal safety skills.
Attending the workshop with great enthusiasm, Nguyễn Thị Yến Nhi (Class 7A6) shared: “I couldn't take my eyes off the workshop. Cyber safety is a very relevant topic, but the way the 11G1 students presented it was both humorous and engaging. The event was organized professionally, and the knowledge I gained helped me realize the importance of proactively learning how to protect myself online.”
Reflecting on the journey, Project Leader Hoàng Gia Linh shared: “Although this was my first time leading a community project, my experience from previous school and club activities gave me the confidence to manage this workshop. The biggest challenge was coordinating people with different personalities and working styles, but thanks to our team's unity and commitment, we were able to overcome every obstacle and successfully deliver the event.”
Greenfield School believes that while first experiences may come with challenges and uncertainty, the hands-on learning opportunities provided through the Community Project curriculum will serve as a strong foundation, helping students become more confident in leading future initiatives and more resilient on their journey of growth and maturity.
