Learning and experiencing in a green space with Grade 4 students

15/11/2024

Field trips are the best "teachers," offering children real-world experiences of the world around them. Stepping away from their familiar classrooms, Grade 4 students embarked on a memorable journey today in the green, beautiful, and modern environment of STEAMLAND Educational Farm (Hoai Duc, Hanoi).

After a warm-up session, the students were energized with lively dances and team-building games like "Obstacle Course" and "Speed Ghost." They also had an exciting time enjoying a series of continuous physical activities, including suspension bridges, ziplining, and rope swings.

The students showcased their team spirit through various exciting activities.

Every corner of STEAMLAND offers a vibrant "miniature world of science". Not only did the students carefully assemble wooden pieces and paint them to create wooden boat models in the carpentry workshop, but they also eagerly conducted the "volcanic eruption" experiment using baking soda, dish soap, and vinegar in the laboratory.

The students had the freedom to explore the creative world of STEAM.

The students were especially excited to transform into little farmers at the smart greenhouse model. After exploring a variety of plants at STEAMLAND and observing the organic vegetable growing process through soil-based and hydroponic methods, they had the chance to plant their own small pots under the guidance of the instructors.

Tiny hands carefully planted young seedlings into pots.

Returning home with colorful wooden boats and carefully planted seedlings, the students gained valuable experiences and knowledge. Hopefully, after today’s trip, they will develop a greater love for science, a deeper appreciation for nature, and a better understanding of the hard work of farmers.
