School Career Counselor

Job title: School Career Counselor

Department: Curriculum Development Department

Classification: Programs, Extra-curricular Activities & Counseling

Accountable to: Head of Curriculum Development Department (Directly), CEO (Indirectly)

Work more with: High School Students, Head Teachers, Academic Heads of Departments, School Board for advisory, Student Affairs Department, Students and External Partners.

As a School Career Counselor, you will play a vital role in helping students explore and navigate their academic and career paths. Your primary goal is to provide guidance and support to students as they make important decisions regarding their education and future careers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (included, but not limited to):

· Develop Career Foundation syllabus and deliver the program to high school students and the relevant stakeholders; also monitor and evaluate its implementation simultaneously

· Provide information and/or direction to students, parents, teachers, and administrators about career and educational services available to students

· Organize/Lead a variety of events and programs such as career workshops, career fairs, field trips (university /industry tours), and job shadow opportunities

· Counsel students (individual or small group counseling) regarding career or vocational issues including career exploration and planning, portfolioc preparation, scholarship application planning, job interview skills and job search strategies, and make available to students a wide range of educational and occupational information

· Participate in career development meetings, workshops, and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to remain knowledgeable of program guidelines

· Track students’ academic progress and credit attainment, transcripts for graduation, and post-secondary requirements

· Referring students to other support services and mental health professionals as needed

· Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 1 year at the same position

· Candidates are required to participate or complete courses related Career Counseling or Career Education in genneral (both offline and online, short courses or long courses are accepted)

· Complete a bachelor or master degree in a behavioral, social science or education field would be preferred

· Good at planning and organizing events/workshops

· Ability to communicate & research in English

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Working knowledge of counseling models, methods, and resources

· Ability to identify and respond to students' needs.

· Must be patient and compassionate.

· High level of integrity

· Continue on education and stay up to date on school counseling changes.

· Working address: Lot 01-74, Rung Co Road, Ecopark Township

· Working hour: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday and 2 Saturdays per month
